Farewell
Jan 2020
Burning joss paper (incense paper) is a traditional Chinese practice that sends blessings to the deceased. It is common to burn them at funerals, and people believe that the message will be passed to the departed in the spirit world through the smoke.

It is somehow a way to commune with someone across time and space. Focused on more personal aspects than material offerings commonly appeared on ordinary incense paper, I designed a joss paper with the traditional ones as references. I burned them all on the new year’s day as for a farewell to the past.
